A Farm Stay at the Kikala Waterfall Lodge
The Kikala Waterfall Lodge is nested in the middle of the Mauna Kea Cloudforest Bioreserve, which is both a botanical garden as well as a very family friendly working farm. The farm is home to a very friendly (and always hungry) herd of rambunctious goats that are always looking for trouble but are super sweet when you feed them. Our friendly goats are always a true delight for visitors! And they’re always busy being naughty, so we end up with lots of goat babies, or “kids” if we use the proper term. Beyond their charm, our goats play a crucial role in regenerative grazing, helping manage vegetation naturally and promoting soil health. We use rotational grazing to increase carbon sequestration in the pasture and increase nutrient density for the goats. They’re a perfect blend of fun and functionality, supporting our sustainable practices while making guest’s visits a memorable experience.
